Spectroscopy & Microscopy Analysis:

  • Establish robust methods, standard operating procedures and protocols for conducting sample analysis and material characterization using spectroscopy and microscopy techniques.
  • X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS): Perform XPS analysis to determine the elemental composition and chemical states of the elements present in the graphene films.
  • Raman Spectroscopy: Conduct Raman spectroscopy to evaluate the structural properties, including defects, disorder, and the number of layers in the graphene films.
  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR): Use FTIR to identify functional groups and chemical bonds in the graphene films.
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM): Utilize SEM to analyze the surface morphology and topography of the graphene films.
  • Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS): Perform EDS analysis in conjunction with SEM to obtain elemental composition and distribution within the graphene films.

Surface Energy Characterization:

  • Contact Angle Measurements: Measure the contact angle to assess the wettability and surface energy of the graphene films. Analyze the data to understand surface modifications and treatment effects.
  • Surface Free Energy Measurements: Measure the surface free energy of substrates to assess compatibility with printable inks. Analyze data to determine use of substrate surface modification treatment effects.

Data Interpretation & Reporting:

  • Analyze spectroscopy and microscopy data to provide insights into the material properties and performance of the graphene films.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing the findings and their implications for material development and application.

Equipment Calibration & Maintenance:

  • Ensure all spectroscopy, microscopy, goniometer equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the instrumentation.
